Welcome to our Winter/Spring newsletter the first for this year 2023. We hope this will help you keep updated on our latest news and events happening in the nursery.

As the quote above suggests, we are enjoying being outside and have an action filled calendar which will include new plans and projects. These will help your children grow and develop whilst also having lots of fun at nursery.

What to Expect----

This is a new line of events which will be running throughout the year. Parents/Carers will be invited to attend a presentation for each room, where you can hear how the room runs, what happens at nursery and how your children learn, develop and enjoy their experiences whilst at nursery. There will be activities and a chance to have a chat with our staff and with other parents/carers.  Alongside staff members in the room,  Holly our HEY Coordinator will be there to explain all about our (HEY) Healthy Early Years Project. Our first one will be on 25th February 2023 in our Yellow Room, topics will include :

·      Breast Feeding

·      Formula Milk

·      Weaning

·      Sleeping and Napping

·      Attachment

·      Dummies and Cups

·      Makaton and Baby Signing

·      Importance of Music and Singing with your baby with a group time for all.

·      We will also be demonstrating healthy eating snacks and a singing session with Makaton signing.

If you would like to attend the above session please let me know. The other rooms will follow with similar and age appropriate themes. Watch this Space.

First Aid Course

This is our first event for this and hope to run it in the future. It is such an important skill to have and also a chance to gain a qualification and meet other parents/carers. Our first event will be on Saturday 25th March 2023 in the morning. If you would like to attend please let me know. It should be a fun and informative session.

Healthy Eating Coordinator (Holly)

We are excited to announce that we have, for the 2nd year running been awarded our HEY Award from the Sheffield City Council. Holly and the team have worked so hard to achieve this so congratulations to them. She has also created two fantastic information boards situated at the entrance to the building and in the foyer which changes with lots of useful information, so keep a look out for that.

Art Coordinator (Michelle)

We are currently looking at the Manchester based artist Lowry, and we are all working as a nursery, on our new creation which will reflect one of his famous factory paintings.

Craft Workshop and Singing

After the brilliant turn out for the two events last year, I am doing one to celebrate Springtime. It will be on Saturday 1st April 2023 and we will be making crafts inspired by this season, and accompanied as always by singing with Ashley in Yellow Room. I will post more details on Famly nearer the time.
